A clinical trial can be as short as a single visit, as long as several years, or anywhere in between. All clinical trials follow a protocol designed to protect your health and answer specific research questions. The protocol outlines who can participate; the schedule of tests, procedures, medications, and dosages; and the length of the study. In 2022, Miguel joined the Breen Lab at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai as a postdoctoral fellow where he is developing novel mutation-tailored therapeutic approaches for autism spectrum disorder and rare genetic subtypes. Outside research, Miguel loves outdoor sports, politics, food and exploring the city.
